‘The Notebook’ May Be Coming To The CW As A TV Series

Rachel McAdams is off the grid, so EW decided now’s the time to report that the CW is working on a TV series based on The Notebook. McAdams and Ryan Gosling starred in the movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks’ most successful weepy book, of course, before falling in love and living happily ever after. Except for the part where they broke up and he tried to fire her.

Still a happier ending than what happened to the Notebook-loving brother and sister.

The official logline: “This series will follow the romantic journey of the two beloved central characters Noah and Allie, at the outset of their blossoming relationship as they build their lives and their future together against the backdrop of the racial politics, economic inequities, and social mores of post-World War II of the late 1940s in North Carolina.” (Via)

In the movie, Baby Goose’s Noah tells McAdams, “I wrote you 365 letters, I wrote you every day for a year,” which is where the TV show should start. It could be like My Name Is Earl, except instead of good deeds, we see what Noah actually wrote in every letter. His dedication sounds a lot more romantic until you realize that by day 73, he was just writing, “Sup.”
