Tracy Morgan Will Return To ‘SNL’ To Host, And Miley Cyrus Gets The Season Premiere

Ever since the Megan Fox debacle of 2009, SNL has generally done a decent job of picking a worthy season premiere host. Amy Poehler (2010) and Tina Fey (2013) were easy choices, as was Alec Baldwin (2011), a member of the Five-Timers Club. Chris Pratt (2014) had that built-in NBC synergy, while Seth MacFarlane (2012) played the straight-man in one of the best sketches of the decade. For the season 41 premiere on October 3, Lorne Michaels is going back to another favorite of his: Miley Cyrus, making her fourth appearance.

Oh, and two weeks later, TRACY MORGAN. I’M BLACK, NBC. VERY PROUD, LIKE PEACOCK.

Morgan returning to SNL, which he wasn’t able to do for the 40th anniversary because he was still recovering from a crash that nearly killed him, is going to be emotional. He recently told Matt Lauer, “I have my good days and my bad days,” but something tells me when he’s back in Studio 8H, doing Astronaut Jones or Brian Fellows again, it’s going to be a good day.

There won’t be a dry doo-doo-pie, I mean, eye in the house.
