Two Returning ‘Walking Dead’ Actors Unnecessarily Raise Concerns About Daryl Dixon’s Fate

Possible, but improbable, season six spoilers below

Two former cast members of The Walking Dead have been spotted returning to the set of the series this week, sparking rumors that fan favorite Daryl Dixon could be in trouble this season, reports the Inquisitr. According to The Walking Dead fan site, The Spoiling Dead, Michael Rooker — who played Merle Dixon, the brother of Daryl who died at the end of season three — was spotted on the set where The Walking Dead is filmed, along with Tyler James Williams, the actor who played Noah.

The immediate concern raised by their presence is that they may be part of a hallucinatory flashback, which is what happened immediately before Tyreese (played by Chad Coleman) died in the fifth mid-season premiere. If that were the case, the logical person to have those hallucinatory flashbacks would probably be Daryl, given his relationship with Michael Rooker’s character.

However, it’s quite a stretch to assume that showrunner Scott Gimple would play that card again, especially so soon after the death of Tyreese. Hallucinatory visions of dead characters, however, aren’t that unusual. Rick has spotted his dead wife on a couple of occasions, but that did not precede Rick’s death.

However, as the Inquisitr notes, it is also not uncommon for returning actors to visit the set for the infamous Death Dinners: Parties the cast holds when a character is killed off to commemorate that actor’s time on the set. The cast of The Walking Dead, after all, is a close-knit family (I believe there were reports of Scott Wilson — who played Hershel — returning for a previous death dinner). If that is the case, the departing cast member is likely someone who shared time with both Noah and Merle, which would most likely limit the possibilities to Andrew Lincoln, Chandler Riggs, Melissa McBride, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira and Norman Reedus.

In other words, Maggie is TOTALLY gonna die this season. Maybe. Possibly. And that would totally possibly maybe suck.
