Bill Hader Is A ‘Blast’ In This Clip From The ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ Premiere

Professional guy-who-makes-everything-better Bill Hader will make Brooklyn Nine-Nine better (which is impressive, because it’s already pretty good) when he joins the cast for season three. It’s unclear how many episodes the Trainwreck star will appear in, but we do know he’s the new captain, with Hot Damn Holt having been transferred to the NYPD’s PR department.

Fox recently released a clip from the season premiere (which airs September 27), and unsurprisingly, Hader and Andy Samberg have excellent chemistry in it. They’ve been through it all together: SNL, the Independent Spirit Awards, and terrible haircuts. So many terrible haircuts. On Nine-Nine, Hader plays Captain Seth Dozerman, who Samberg describes as having “a severely anal-retentive personality” and “not an obvious fit with the precinct.”

“Bill is funny as hell in the role,” continues Samberg, “Dozerman is a borderline lunatic, so in a lot of ways he fits in well at the Nine-Nine. It was great to see Bill and work together again. It’s basically ‘Laser Cats’ set in the past with a way bigger budget.” (Via)

So, the budget’s $27? Hope Hader likes wearing flashback mustaches and wigs.

Here’s another promo, now with fewer references to Scully in the bathroom.
