Donald Trump Starts The CNN GOP Debate With This ‘Junior High’ Attack On Rand Paul

Tonight’s CNN GOP Debate is off to a rousing start with an exchange between Donald Trump and Rand Paul. The opener revolved around this question: “Would you feel comfortable with Trump’s ‘finger on the nuclear codes’?” Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina delivered the initial answer, and she admitted to having concerns about Trump’s temperament.

The focus shifted to Trump for a response, and he stated, “I think I have a great temperament … My temperament is very good, very calm. But we need to be respected in this country. We are not respected now.” Then he abruptly shifted the conversation by saying, “First of all, Rand Paul shouldn’t even be on this stage. He’s number 11.”

Paul stepped up to the mic with this: “I’m very concerned about having him in charge of nuclear weapons … because I think his visceral response is to attack people’s appearance. Short, tall, fat, ugly. My goodness, that happened in junior high!” Over to Trump, who stated, “I never attacked him on his looks, and believe me, there’s plenty of subject matter there…”

As we saw in the Fox News GOP Debate, Megyn Kelly previously asked Trump why he makes derogatory comments about womens’ looks. Trump responded by insulting Rosie O’Donnell’s looks. Trump has a history of focusing on the superficial when confronted with substantial questions, and this exchange with Rand Paul is no exception.

Twitter sided with Paul on this one. Stay tuned for more Trumpness.
