What’s On Tonight: ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Premieres

Dancing With the Stars (ABC, 8 p.m.) – Season 21 of the celebrity dance competition kicks off. A Backstreet Boy, America’s least-favorite TV chef, Chaka Khan and Steve Erwin’s daughter will be on the dance floor (along with a lot of other people you probably won’t recognize).

American Ninja Warrior (NBC, 8 p.m.) – The Season 7 finale sees the remaining contestants take on the aptly named Mount  Midoriyama course in Vegas. Roulette Rows, Psycho Chains and Area 51 obstacles await.

Friend With Benefits (LIFE, 8 p.m.) – In place of teen pregnancy pacts and murdering ex-husbands, Lifetime is giving us a fairly standard rom-com starring Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis.

So You Think You Can Dance (Fox, 8 p.m.) – If, for some reason, you choose to watch SYTYCD over DWTS (so. many. abbreviations) , you’ll catch the second half of the show’s season finale tonight where, we’ve been told, America’s Favorite Dancer will be chosen.

WWE Monday Night Raw (USA, 8 p.m.) – With Night of Champions less than a week away, Raw is raising the stakes with some Bella action and a tag-team title holder match.

Awkward (MTV, 9 p.m.) – In a shocking turn of events, Jenna becomes the popular one while Maddie tries out the angsty, emo outcast look. Also, Ally is hosting a sex toy party.

Whose Line Is It Anyway (CW, 9 p.m.) – Normally I wouldn’t give space for this one, but Keegan-Michael Key is gracing the show tonight, so it may be worth a look.

Walt Disney: American Experience (PBS, 9 p.m.) – The first in a two-part series about the life and legacy of Walt Disney – the man responsible for any good childhood memories you may still have – airs. “The Obvious Choice”

#DanceBattleAmerica (ABC, 10 p.m.) – ABC gives us yet another dance competition, this time focusing on a handful of dance teams who don’t mind going through Footloose boot camp to win a trophy (and be on national TV.) As much as I love Julianne Hough (who exec produced this) any show whose title starts with a hashtag has immediately lost me. Here’s hoping Alfonso Ribeiro (the show’s host) can rope us back in with a little Carlton action.
