Donald Trump Met With Televangelists Who Promise Miracle Ebola Cures And Zombie Chickens

This video shows Donald Trump at Trump Towers, where he met with a number of prominent evangelists on September 28. The guest list included a number of recognizable names (that is, if one keeps up with evangelists who have been investigated by the feds for sketchy financial dealings). The group prayed for Trump with the famed “laying on of hands” gesture, which will surely get him into the White House.

Boing Boing dug up the list of attendees, which are staggering in their outlandish histories. Kenneth and Gloria Copeland, who are anti-vaccine advocates, attended. So did a matching set of End Times bookends in the form of Christian Pastor David Jeremiah and “Jews For Jesus” Rabbi Kirt Schneider. Two twin prophets of financial doom, Paula White and Jan Crouch, brought in the shady, wig-wearing madness. In particular, Crouch has come under repeated investigation for misappropriation of funds. She also believes Jesus resurrected her chicken:

Kenneth Copeland has grown notorious on YouTube for promising miracle Ebola cures through the power of prayer (and substantial donations).

Trump must have an ulterior motive for inviting this collection of sketchballs into his office space for a prayer ritual. He doesn’t need (or want) their money, since he’s largely funding his own campaign (and feels obligated to point this out on a regular basis). Trump occasionally throws out a bible verse, but he’s not targeting the evangelical crowd on a hardcore or regular basis. He probably thought he could sneak these shady types in, make them happy, and secure their congregations’ votes on the down low. Trump didn’t count on someone recording and posting the video to YouTube.
