Larry David Was Born To Play Bernie Sanders On ‘SNL’

Despite being one of the greatest comedic minds of his generation, Larry David, who wrote for SNL in 1984-1985, only had one sketch make it to air. No hard feelings, though, because the Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld creator showed up during SNL 40 and made an appearance during tonight’s cold open, playing presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, naturally.

There was a lot of screaming, and a prediction for 2016: President Clinton/Vice President Sanders. If it means Kate McKinnon and Larry can keep playing off each other, perfect. Also, he was the first old cast member to return, but he wouldn’t be the last. Larry’s daughter wasn’t impressed.
