Things Got Pretty Squanched Up On The ‘Rick And Morty’ Season Finale

It’s safe to say that even before this finale things got kind of heavy during the second season of Rick and Morty, what with the attempted suicide and getting into some of the Smiths’ darker family moments. Still, in the finale our mad scientist got more depressed — well, more openly depressed — as opposed to hiding behind a catch phrase and crazy hijinx.

And what better plot device to kick all of that off than a wedding?

Rick didn’t want to go, but thanks to the old “character gets shipped to another planet” trope, there really wasn’t any way out of it.

And it isn’t a true season finale without Squanchy, whose language apparently has nuance.

And despite Jerry being all, Jerry…

Rick was still the worst guest there

But eventually the happiness wore Rick down and he gave a pretty good speech.

Almost everyone liked it.

Meanwhile, Tammy gave just about the worst speech ever.

Then things got a bit out of hand.

Good news: The Smiths made it out of that crazy wedding.

Bad news: They were on the run and choices of hideout planets were a bit limited.

They settled on small planet, where it’s surprisingly easy to eavesdrop.

Rick knew what he had to do.

Not that Morty cared for it.

But in the end, the Smiths got a normal Earth life…

… and Rick had to go away, again.

And that’s it for Season Two of Rick and Morty. I think Mr. Poopybutthole summed it up best.
