‘Supergirl’: Check Out Three Sneak Peeks Of Next Monday’s Episode

Following its top-rated television debut on Monday, the new CBS superhero series Supergirl just dropped three new promos online for its upcoming second episode, “Stronger Together.” According to the official synopsis, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) screws up royally at the beginning of the episode, causing some kind of event that will make sure “no one will surf National City for the next 10,000 years.”

This puts her boss, Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart), on damage control — after all, the media magnate kinda sorta “branded” Supergirl as “Supergirl” in the pilot. “It is left to us,” she tells Kara and the rest of her staff, “to take control of Supergirl’s narrative, save her from self-immolation and scoop the [Daily Planet].”

Meanwhile, another one of the escaped Kryptonian prisoners is on the loose and Kara must find and contain him. Hopefully soon, because Hellgrammite (Justice Leak) has a very creepy Blade II vibe going on that’s… erm… creepy. (If not copyright infringement.) The character is loosely based on Bob Haney and Neal Adams’ Hellgrammite, who first appeared in Brave and the Bold #80 in 1968.

All of this must go down while Kara struggles to fine-tune her powers. With the help of mere humans Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) and James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), apparently all it will take is a little practice and some good thoughts. What could possibly go wrong?
