Through five seasons of The Walking Dead, there are a few things you can be sure about: Rick’s facial hair is an indicator of his current temperament, Glenn is going to look sweaty and nervous no matter how tame the situation is, and the first and last episode of each season is going to go big.

Season six is following all of these rules so far. The premiere gifted loyal fans with a wide-scoping 90-minute episode that saw the survivors of Alexandria, led by Rick, attempt to lead a horde of walkers (the largest they’ve ever had to deal with) away from the safe walls of their community. As we saw, that plan did not come to fruition. Who’s responsible for blowing the horn, leading the horde towards their home? In season five, we saw the Wolves lurking about, setting traps and getting into a confrontation with Morgan. Could they be the culprits?

There are plenty of scenarios that will play out this season in AMC’s hit series. Besides the threats outside of their safe haven, the residents of Alexandria have some problems of their own. Rick and Daryl are not seeing eye-to-eye on salvaging survivors. In the wake of her husband’s death, Deanna is dealing with the proactive measures Rick’s group is presenting. Let’s also not overlook Morgan’s arrival in the season five finale — just how in the hell did he find zen in an apocalyptic wasteland?

This is just the proverbial snowflake on the tip of the iceberg, folks. People are going to die this season, and — knowing the show —  heavy buckets of grief will be passed around like batons. At least we know that Alexandria has access to balloons. Balloons always make you feel better.
