There’s A Secret ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Reference In ‘Fallout 4’

The Fallout series is not shy when it comes to pop culture Easter eggs. We rounded up a bunch of them yesterday, including clever, fan-only nods to The Simpsons, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Pinky and the Brain, and, for better or worse, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. No wonder these post-apocalyptic games are so popular. Well, that, and they’re awesome.

A Fallout 4 player already found the reference to the most famous Boston-set show of all-time, but it took a little longer for someone to discover the obscure Sons of Anarchy homage. It’s there, and it’s wonderful. And sad.

Opie Hurst is none other than an amalgam of Opie from Sons of Anarchy and the actor who played him, Ryan Hurst. (Fun fact about Hurst: His first on-screen role was as Crunch Grabowski in Saved by the Bell: The New Class. SAMCRO needed more guys named Crunch.) The height, the weight, the distinguishing marks, the leather vest, the wool knit cap, the motorcycle keys — the only thing missing is a metal pipe. And now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to make myself depressed by watching this scene again.

Then probably play Fallout 4 until Monday.
