Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Falling In Love With The Weapon ‘The Walking Dead’ Fans Can’t Wait To See

As we saw in the final scene of the midseason finale for The Walking Dead, Negan’s arrival is imminent. Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham were approached by a gang of bikers who claimed that their property belonged to the newest member of the cast, Jeffrey Dean Morgan. We’ve yet to see Morgan as Negan, but it’s only a matter of time before we finally set our gaze on the man who will likely change the entire landscape of the series.

If you don’t know who Negan kills in the comics, I’ll refrain from ruining it for you, but you can do an easy search for the landmark 100th issue of the comic book to find out which character goes night-night after a meeting with Negan’s barbed-wired bat, Lucille. It remains to be seen who’ll be offed by Negan in the TV show, but it’ll probably be a major cast member. As for Negan’s weapon of choice, Morgan has already gotten to play with the dastardly thing as he’s currently filming for the series. JDM spoke with EW this week and had romantic thoughts on Lucille.

She is gorgeous. She is a beautiful girl.

Morgan also talked about how close his portrayal of the character will be to the comics, as well as Negan’s propensity for foul-language.

We’re going to push AMC — the plan is to push them as far as they can because it’s who Negan is. He uses some colorful language. And I use some colorful language. And reading the comic, it’s important. So we’ll see where that lands. It’s our intention that this character is going to leap off the pages of the comic book. It’s very important that that’s who it is. Some of the characters there’s much more leeway, but Negan is a guy that you want to keep as true as possible, and that would be how I want to play him as well.

We’ll have to wait until 2016 to finally see Jeffrey Dean Morgan don the leather jacket and bat.
