The Undercover Boss-meets-Star Wars: The Force Awakens parody, with Driver reprising his role as Kylo Ren, is a bonafide #viral sensation. After five days, it’s already the sixth most watched sketch on SNL‘s YouTube page, and should sneak into the top-five soon (sorry, “Black Jeopardy”). The second most popular: Ryan Gosling losing his sh*t to Kate McKinnon’s story about aliens abducting her. Apparently people like Star Wars (and/or aliens) and famous people laughing, so SNL wisely combined the two and ended up with a behind the scenes look at “Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base.”
Driver has a hard time keeping it together, which makes me worried for Cecily “The Force Is” Strong. Think about how many gallons of god-knows-what were spilled on her during dress rehearsal for the “Whole New World” sketch.
