All it took was one joke comment from a parent-teacher conference at their childrens’ school to set off a text chain between Adam Sandler and Conan O’Brien that seemed to travel well into the night. What transpires is a conversation that shows that Sandler is still funny as hell and enjoys sending weird texts to his friends.
This clip has a lot going for it and is one of the shining moments from Conan’s scraps clip show from Thursday. Not only do Andy and Conan look like they literally rolled out of bed and walked to the studio — something that makes me feel good — but it gives a look at how they seem to truly enjoy each other’s company. I don’t expect some Gene Wilder/ Richard Pryor revelation from their memoirs, saying they weren’t really friends when the show was over.
There’s also a lot of weird penis talk from Sandler’s end of the conversation, but I don’t really want to spoil it. I also don’t want to try to transcribe it because things do get a little odd. Just assume he’s doing it from a bathtub while also yelling at a giant penguin. That helped me.
