It’s been nearly a decade since Alias ended, and creator J.J. Abrams has since moved on to a galaxy far, far away. However, despite getting bogged down by the dense mythology by the end, there is still a large amount of goodwill surrounding the action drama. Few other shows have brought so much ass-kicking and so many wigs (a mantle which has since been taken up by The Americans), and the relationship between Jennifer Garner‘s Sydney Bristow and her father, Jack, played by Victor Garber is still one of the most wonderful and complex parent/child relationships in television history.
Well, the Bristows and Abrams were all smiles when they reunited at the Oscars last night, making everyone wish that a reunion show in the works for Netflix (minus Jack, RIP). Garber’s hunky husband, model/artist Ranier Andreesen, posted the image to his Instagram. Garner and Garber are famously close, with Garber officiating Garner’s wedding to Ben Affleck, and Garner being the only witness to Garber and Andreesen’s recent nuptials. Garber told Vanity Fair:
“From the first moment we met,” he says, “there was this inexplicable chemistry and connection, this understanding that we were on the same page. She’s one of the most important people in my life.”
Awwwww. If that doesn’t give you the warm fuzzies, nothing will.
