FX Has Released The First Teaser For ‘American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson’

The first highly-anticipated (by me and dozens of others, I’m sure) teaser for Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story: The People V. OJ Simpson has finally arrived, but unfortunately it does not give us any additional glimpses of the cast beyond the amazing cast photos that were released back in May (I cannot encourage you enough to click on that link). It does however, give us a first listen of leads John Travolta as Robert Shapiro, Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark, Courtney B. Vance as Johnny Cochran, and Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson.

Some thoughts. When Vance says: “I like to win, this case is a loser!” I fully expected a Dr. Hibbert from The Simpsons laugh to follow. But more importantly, WHAT IS THAT VOICE YOU ARE DOING, CUBA GOODING JR.?! That is not what O.J. Simpson sounds like. Just to be sure, I even searched for “O.J. Simpson interview” on YouTube, and it is definitely not what O.J. Simpson sounds like. This, on the other hand, sounds like Cuba Gooding Jr. doing an impersonation of Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk from Daredevil. And like, not a very good one.

Oh my. This series is shaping up to be even more tremendous than previously imagined. American Crime Story premieres in February, so we have plenty of time to prepare for it.
