As is tradition, a week out from the premiere, FX has released the new opening sequence for American Horror Story: Hotel, and maybe it’s just because I’ve been really looking forward to it, but I’m kind of just feeling like… meh about the whole thing? I don’t know, maybe it’s just because this year’s sequence doesn’t feature any naked androgynous clowns with giant boot-wearing legs for a dick. Honestly, that is just a really difficult precedent to set for yourself. How can you even top that? Ryan Murphy flew too high to the sun!
What this year’s opening sequence does contain are plenty of visuals of creepy sexy maids cleaning up blood from walls and carpets, as well as the recurring themes of people getting trapped in beds and creepy children. I am only half kidding, but how much do you guys want to bet this season ends up involving no people getting trapped in beds or creepy children?
Oh, and there’s also this sexy lady sauntering around in the background. Meow!
American Horror Story: Hotel premieres next Thursday, October 8 at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
