Amy Schumer arrived at the 2016 Golden Globes not with her steamy new boyfriend, but with her sister, Trainwreck co-writer Kim Caremele in tow. Their film is nominated in the category for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy and it wasn’t long before the duo encountered Ryan Seacrest hosting E!’s Live From the Red Carpet coverage. As you can imagine the temptation of messing with Seacrest on live TV was far too tempting for the Inside Amy Schumer comedian.
Schumer did exactly what Amy Schumer does best and turned the moment into comedy gold, making Seacrest (not to mention her sister) squirm by bringing up a topic that she had apparently been warned against mentioning when asking about being notified when they were on: “My vagina itched, and I asked if I could address it, and you said NO!” Thankfully for Seacrest, Schumer’s sister was able to quickly take hold of the situation.
Moments later Schumer and Caremele encountered Matt Lauer and Savannah Guthrie hosting NBC’s own live red carpet coverage, where she was warned that the interview was on a 20-second delay. “Just 20 seconds?” Schumer asked, before quipping, “All Matt Lauer can do is 20 seconds!” We assume Matt Lauer’s wife has no comment to that point.
