And Now Here’s A Necessary Mash-Up Of ‘The O.C.’ And This Week’s ‘Game Of Thrones

Yesterday we brought you an important video inspired by this week’s Game of Thrones that set Ygritte’s death to the song Shot Through the Heart by Bon Jovi. This was all well and good, and an excellent first attempt, to be sure, but it needed more … angst. More melodrama. More callbacks to 10-year-old primetime soap operas about felonious teenagers being adopted by a wealthy California family and all the disasters and hijinks that took place as a result.

Well, now we have it, as some hero has finally uploaded a video of the scene set to “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap (the “Mmm Whatcha Say” song). It’s perfect. For those of you keeping score at home, in this analogy:

  • Ygritte = Trey
  • Jon Snow = Ryan
  • Olly = Marissa (<— hilarious)

And if we’re taking this even further, then I suppose it means Ned Stark, Catelyn Stark, and Robb Stark are/were Sandy Cohen, Kirsten Cohen, and Seth Cohen, respectively, all of which actually kind of work. It also means Cersei Lannister is Julie Cooper and Joffrey is Oliver, neither of which technically work because Julie was not Oliver’s mother on The O.C., but are too perfect to ignore and will therefore be accepted as fact anyway.
