Aubrey Plaza had a typically weird, awkward conversation with David Letterman last night in which he brought up Plaza’s recreational, all-women’s basketball team, the Pistol Shrimps. Since we last heard from the Pistol Shrimps, the league has actually gotten pretty huge, growing from six teams to 24, likely due in part to Plaza’s high-profile involvement and a large social media following. It’s gotten to the point, apparently, that teams are now being sponsored, and in addition to being point guard on her own team, Plaza is sponsoring another team who will feature her face on their jerseys.
Now, I’m no competitive athlete here, but wouldn’t playing another team that has your face plastered all over their jerseys be kind of a psych-out? Then again, most of us are probably not as unflappable as Aubrey Plaza.
