It’s Another Brand Of ‘Batman V Superman’ Showdown As The Two Heroes Share LL Cool J’s ‘Mama Said Knock You Out’

Like it or not, every molecule of life at the moment seems to be marinated in all things Batman v Superman. (Or is it that Batman v Superman v Critics?) The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon isn’t immune to such things and as a result we have the unlikely fusion of Batman, Superman and LL Cool J. Why? It’s not important why, it’s just important that it exists.

This Tonight Show “video mixtape’ sadly does not feature Val Kilmer and Dean Cain recreating scenes from LL’s “Doin’ It” promo, but instead we have retro cartoon versions of the DC superheroes trading lyrics (and punches) to the sounds of “Mama Said Knock You Out.” As you might expect, it’s a bit cheerier than the universe depicted by Zack Snyder in his freshly released film. Maybe he was saving all the “pow!” balloons for the R-rated cut. A well-placed cameo at the end of this comedy segment puts a lovely bow on things.

Considering the way promo goes these days, we’re surprised Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill didn’t just pop up on Spike and do this song with LL on Lip Sync Challenge? We’re not complaining, mind you. Here’s hoping we get the Caped Crusader and Man Of Steel pairing up for “Rock the Bells” in the not-too-distant future.
