MTV Classic Will Bring Back ‘Beavis And Butt-Head’ For A ‘Buttoween’ Weekend Marathon

Halloweeners with some time to spare between hardcore sessions of candy eating and pumpkin carving may want to check out MTV Classic on Saturday, October 29 at 5 p.m. ET. That’s when the cable channel will gift its viewers with a 24-hour Beavis and Butt-head marathon, but instead of rolling through the entirety of the Mike Judge cartoon show’s catalog, only the Halloween-themed episode “Bungholio: Lord of the Harvest” will play. In other words, you can watch the same half-hour episode without reprieve for a solid 24 hours.

Dubbed “The Great Cornholiothon,” or “Buttoween,” MTV Classic invites fans to answer trivia questions about the acclaimed series as they pop up. Those interested in playing can tag their answers with the hashtag #buttoweensweepstakes and the channel’s official Twitter account (@mtvclassic) for chances to win free stuff. Though if you do want to watch all or any of the marathon, and if you do want to play along, you’ll only have until Sunday, October 30 at 5 p.m. ET to do so.

After that, MTV Classic will screen back-to-back showings of Ghostbusters, Ghostbusters II, and The Lost Boys. All three movies (as well as Weekend at Bernie’s) will air again on Halloween day beginning at 1 p.m. ET. You know, to cleanse everyone’s pallet after having watched the same Beavis and Butt-head episode for 24 hours straight.
