Bernie Sanders Gets His Day As George Costanza In This ‘Seinfeld’ Mashup

When it comes to the 2016 presidential election and Seinfeld, Republican front-runner Donald Trump seems like the best choice for George Costanza‘s real-life counterpart. However, following Democratic hopeful Bernie Sandersheavy losses to rival Hillary Clinton on Tuesday, and Wednesday’s news that the Independent Vermont senator would lay off hundreds of campaign staffers, maybe he isn’t suited for the role of Cosmo Kramer. Maybe he’s more of a Costanza than Trump. At least that’s the scenario put forward by the folks over at Break, who mashed up footage of Sanders from his many rallies and speeches with shots of George gesticulating wildly on Seinfeld.

Considering George’s penchant for complaining about pretty much every single thing that ever happened (or didn’t happen) to him, the shoe fits. Especially with the footage Break chose to merge with certain scenes, as the best aspects of Larry David‘s phenomenal Saturday Night Live impression are on full display. The shouting, the complaining, the percentages — it’s almost as if George was retroactively based on Sanders. Then again, Trump does many of the same things, too, though Costanza and Sanders are actually likable characters. So maybe Kramer didn’t #FeelTheBern as Uproxx assumed he had.
