Bill Burr Laments Agreeing To Be On National Television Following The Patriots’ Super Bowl Loss

Bill Burr was back on Conan on Monday, but seems to be wishing that he canceled the appearance given the results of the Super Bowl. His beloved Patriots fell to the Eagles and that would usually mean a period of shameful hiding for your typical fan. A championship loss is tough, even if your team currently has five titles and is always contention two decades running. As Burr says to Conan, the moment your team is eliminated from contention is the moment you start the clock until baseball season — or just watch basketball since it is 2018.

But here is your comedic hero, braving the public sphere to talk about making fun of the troops, questioning the true value of the term “first responder,” and dropping a few jokes about being able to “d-up” on Tom Brady as a receiver. He also thinks Brady should’ve gone all out to catch the pass, which most people would agree with given the circumstances. Who knows what might’ve happened had he pulled a John Elway in that moment. He could’ve cemented the legend of Tom Brady and had the perfect opportunity to ride off into the sunset. Instead, we got another Tom Brady sad moment on the field.

Still, Burr can’t be too upset. They get the sports talk out of the way early, but it is the Patriots they’re talking about. It’s almost like whining about the Yankees at this point.
