The fourth season of Boardwalk Empire — quietly one of the best, most tense, and increasingly improving dramas on television — debuts Sunday, September 8th. Based on the latest trailer for the fourth season, it’s gonna to continue to improve on the last two stellar seasons. It appears as though there will be an investigation into unsolved gangland shooting from the end of last season, Nucky appears to be getting another love interest, Capone appears to be enjoying his Tommy gun per usual, and there’s no footage of Margaret Schroeder, which is not necessarily a bad thing (although, the trailer could use more Van Alden because, as in life, everything can use more Michael Shannon).
But most importantly, in addition to Ron Livingston, Jeffrey Wright joins the cast, and he looks like one bad ass menacing mother f****** that you do NOT want to f*** with. He’s probably going to win ALL the Emmys for best guest role next year.
