Here’s a series of videos produced by Nerdist and EffinFunny called “Breaking Belding,” which imagine the Breaking Bad universe if it were filled with characters from Saved by the Bell. The details:
A terminally balding Mr. Belding and Zack Morris have taken to RV caffeine pill cooking in order to pay for treatment, but lots of violent people want to get in their way. What are they to do when they get in trouble? Better reach Screech! Dustin Diamond guest stars in this incredibly effective parody of two things. [Nerdist]
Hmmm, I wonder how they got Dustin Diamond for this.
Anyway, look. I was fully prepared to make fun of this for being the kind of blatant nostalgia bait that confuses “making references” with “making jokes,” but then I remembered that I spent like a half an hour on Twitter the other week dreaming up a scenario where The Max was Bayside’s version of Los Pollos Hermanos, with Max himself as its Gus Fring. I surrendered the high ground on this one before they even showed up on the battlefield.
