Caitlyn Jenner Didn’t Spell Her Name With A ‘K’ On Purpose

When the former Bruce Jenner debuted the transition to the surprisingly foxy Caitlyn Jenner today, one of the first remarks around the Uproxx virtual office was that she almost definitely picked a name with a hard-C sounding name, but didn’t spell it with a K as a direct jab to Kris Jenner and the Kardashians.

Well, we were half right. According to TMZ, the spelling was intentional. However, it was more about Jenner’s self identity than getting a shot in at the expense of the Kardashians, which saddens me because I wish more things in the world were done at the expense of the Kardashians.

Sources closely associated with Bruce tell us Caitlyn wants to make it clear to her family and the world … she is her own person. That sounds obvious, but we’re told it was an extremely meaningful choice for her … she has never been her own person before, and becoming part of the Kardashian brood would undermine her goal.

To be fair, being associated with the Kardashians would undermine a lot more than just her goal at assuming her new identity. On the flip side, it might land her a sweet iPad game or diet pill endorsement. I think she made the right call.
