‘Supergirl’ Has Added Two More Series Regulars To Its Ever Growing Cast

While surely it had to be running out of room in its trailers by this point, that hasn’t stopped CBS from adding more cast members to its ever growing DC adaptation from Greg Berlanti, Supergirl. In the latest bit of casting, the show has found itself a new sister and military man for series regular roles.

David Harewood and Chyler Leigh have been added as series regulars to CBS’ Supergirl pilot, based on DC Comics.

Harewood (“Homeland”) will play supervillain Hank Henshaw, a former CIA agent who now runs the Department of Extra-Normal Operation, which tracks extraterrestrial threats on the planet Earth. In the DC Comics world, Henshaw is known as Cyborg Superman.

Leigh has been cast as the foster sister of Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Alex Danvers. Fascinated by the powers of Kara — aka Supergirl — from a young age, Alex developed a lifelong obsession with science, which inspired her to become a doctor. (via Variety)

At this point, it wouldn’t appear like there’s much room left in the cast for initial series regulars on a list that already includes Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks, Laura Benanti, and Melissa Benoist as Supergirl herself. However, one can never guess what the cast will end up looking like until production is actually complete.
