Charlie Murphy Keeps It Real

Charlie Murphy is best known for his work on “Chappelle’s Show” (“CHAAAAHLIE MURPHY!”), and even though I’ve never loved his stand-up, he gets a lifetime pass from me for The Playa Haters Ball. Here he is at Grambling State University on Wednesday night, and when the crowd turns sour and starts booing (fast forward to about the 1:00 mark), he calmly asks for his $22,000 check for the performance, holds it up and says:

This is you guys’ money, right? That y’all paid for Charlie Murphy to come see y’all, right? Y’all can have it back. Good night. F*ck you.

And then he drops the check and the mic on stage and walks off. So, SO awesome. I want him to be my dad.
