When you think about Bobby Moynihan and Chris Rock, you have probably never in your life thought of the Prince song, “Erotic City,” but that will all change with the collection of promos for this week’s Saturday Night Live. Former cast member Rock is making his return to the stage that made him famous, having last hosted in 1996, but this time he’s being joined by a musical guest that is a little more impressive than The Wallflowers (although “One Headlight” is still a classic jam). That guest is obviously Prince, and everyone should be incredibly excited about the man in purple blessing SNL with his 8-minute jam session on Saturday.
Rock is certainly excited about it, which is why all of his promos for this week’s show had nothing to do with his comedy style or new film, Top Five, and were instead all about Prince. In fact, I still can’t believe that wasn’t actually Prince in the first clip.
