Ray Confronts Frank In This ‘True Detective’ Sneak Peek On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Colin Farrell made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, with just three episodes left of True Detective. He brought along a clip with him that gives us some insight to the cliffhanger at the end of the last episode, when a furious Ray Velcoro shows up at Frank Semyon’s door after learning that the guy he almost definitely killed was not, in fact, his ex-wife’s rapist, which is one of the more interesting developments so far this season.

It’s a short clip, but if you’re at work and can’t watch, basically, Ray is all like, “You gave me a man’s name on a piece of paper, knowing what I’d do with it!” Frank comes back with perfect 13-year-old girl logic and is like, “Well, I just gave it to you. I didn’t know what you’d do with it,” and then plays dumb, saying that information was passed on to him, so it’s totally not his fault. But Ray already had his light-bulb moment and knows that Vince Vaughn was playing him the whole time to be a dirty cop. It’s pretty heavy.

Anyway, knowing what I’ve come to expect from this season of True Detective, both men will probably spend the 55 minutes following the heated confrontation brooding and drinking heavily at seedy drinking establishments with depressing house music.
