Comedy Central Is Launching A Twitter Comedy Festival That May Actually Be Hilarious

You know that guy on Twitter who thinks he’s really funny but none of his jokes work and that 140 character limit is really screwing with his delivery? Well, hopefully he’ll tune in to Comedy Central’s new gimmick to get some pointers on how it’s done.

The network is launching a comedy festival that takes place solely on Twitter. Here’s how it goes:

The five-day festival starting on April 29th will consist of comedians and the rest of us tweeting jokes with the hashtag #ComedyFest or a six-second video on Vine. So basically, just be yourselves and add that hashtag and now it’s a festival! Yay!

The event will kick off on Monday at L.A.’s Paley Center with an event featuring Rob Reiner, Judd Apatow and Mel Brooks. Yes, please. The official announcement from Comedy Central is coming Monday, so there may be more to this, including a list of comedian participants.

I hope I’m not the only one pumped about all the Twitpics Carrot Top has up his sleeves.
