Conan And Steven Yuen Host Noth Korea’s First Talk Show And Try Out K-Pop During ‘Conan Korea’

Conan aired his special Conan Korea episode on Saturday night featuring many odd and crazy segments that you’d expect from a show filmed in Korea. You can watch the full episode online at the moment, but some of the best moments came near the end of the episode. Above you see Steven Yeun — currently or formerly of The Walking Dead — and Conan taking a dive into a K-pop music video for J.Y. Park’s “Fire.” And when they say fire, they mean fire. Conan and Yeun are wearing full makeup and our lead singer manages to blast fire out of his mouth after drinking some special red liquor. It’s a catchy song, though.

Conan also took some lessons in Korean, visited a fish market, appeared on the Korean soap opera One More Happy Ending, and did some Tae Kwon Do. But it’s once Yeun arrives that things start to pick up.

The best part is likely when they both travel to the DMZ and take a moment to host their own version of a talk show from the North Korean side. They manage this by entering the meeting house cut by the 38th parallel. When the American guard warns Conan about touching the South Korean guard, things are little real. It’d be a little odd to see our favorite host and his friend from The Walking Dead either get tossed into a Korean jail or worse, end up kidnapped in North Korea.

It is pretty cool that Conan has essentially traveled all over the globe at this point. I’d actually just watch nothing but Conan and Andy Richter doing their own travel show if possible. He was one of the first folks to film in Cuba since we started to cool our relationship, just filmed a segment while technically in North Korea, and now hopefully he’ll end up going to Monster Island or something and interviewing Mothra. Keep up the good work.
