Is 'Transformers 4' The 'Most Anticipated Movie Of The Summer'? YouTube Commenters Decide.

Later today, Entertainment Tonight will be bringing us a brand new trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction, as well as an inside look at the Michael Bay franchise that lives on with Mark Wahlberg instead of the boy with the paper bag on his head. However, in ET’s trailer for the trailer – BRAHHHHHHM – the gentleman providing the voiceover informs us that we can check our concerns at the door, because Transformers 4 is apparently the “most anticipated movie of the summer.” That came as a bit of a surprise to me, because I had assumed that such an honor belonged to Foxcatcher, Jupiter Ascending and 22 Jump Street in a threeway tie, because it’s the year of C-Tates 2 Da Streets.

So I started wondering, “Is Transformers 4 actually the most anticipated movie of the summer and should I get tacos for lunch?” After all, we have X-Men: Days of Future Past, Guardians of the Galaxy, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Maleficent, Godzilla, Edge of Tomorrow, Hercules, and The Expendables 3, among many others. Is there anyone out there who truly believes that Michael Bay’s robo-kaboom-fest is going to be bigger and better than any of these other films? I decided to check with the all-knowing oracles for answers. That’s right, YouTube commenters.

I just wish there was a way to properly determine the most anticipated movies of the summer. Like a list perhaps.

So keep an eye out for that list that comes out at the end of the summer that tells us which movies ended up being the most highly-anticipated. As for a real opinion…

But this is a brand new take on the same story that Michael Bay repeated through the first three movies on his way to earning several billion dollars. *vomits into bucket* Surely, we’re all excited about watching Mark Wahlberg take the lead, right?

Aw, I’m sorry, fella. You can still see him and his paper bag in other movies that are far more artistic. We’re getting away from the point, though. What do the people paying for the tickets think is the actual most anticipated movie of the summer?

Okay, that’s a valid opinion. What else?

It’s not ridiculous, it’s marketing. Soon we’ll have trailers for trailer trailers and people pulling actual trailers full of trailers for the trailer trailers, coming this summer in Trail of Trailers.

I was gonna say, this is a summer heavy with superheroes and monsters. What makes Optimus Prime and the Dinobots any bigger than some new blood like Star-Lord and GROOT?

A tie? There are no ties in anticipation. That’s like kissing your sister, which is something that you totally never thought about while watching her shower that one time. Besides, why can’t we highly anticipate a lot of movies? Why do we constantly have to rank them as if we’re not going to see them all?

Yeah, I can’t wait for this pile of shit either, I think. So can anyone just answer my question in a plain and simple manner?

I did, however, find someone who is truly excited for Transformers: Age of Extinction, and this guy is about to put all of you haters in your places.

No more crying to mommy and daddy for any of you.
