‘Dyke And Fats’ Heroically Return To ‘SNL’ To Save Christmas

We missed you, Les Dykawitz and Chubbina Fatzarelli. Please come visit Saturday Night Live more often.

Kate McKinnon and Aidy Bryant‘s unapologetic ’70s Chicago crimefighting duo made their welcome return to SNL last night to save Christmas, warm our hearts and remind their bosses in the police department to watch what they say around the city’s best cops. You’d think the endless explosions and a rescued Santa Claus would earn them more respect, but host John Cena‘s muscle farm of a police chief still can’t get out of his dumb old way.

If you caught the initial installment from its Louis CK hosted debut, the formula will be familiar but more than welcome. If Netflix wants to turn Dyke & Fats into a limited run series, we’d be game. Visual gags like a gun loaded with milk (for deserving cats) and a shredded cheese snowfall do a lot of the heavy lifting, but it’s the fierce friendship between Dykawitz and Fatzarelli that provides this recurring bit with its sweet beating heart.

“You went back to the women thing?!” exclaims a justifiably irritated Les Dykawitz as Dyke & Fats have to deal with Cena’s numbskull chief.

We have the holiday return of Dyke & Fats nestled above for your viewing and hilarious “boing!” sound effect listening pleasure.
