With the recent news that Avengers: Age of Ultron will crossover with the ABC hit Agents of SHIELDfans are buzzing about what could be in store for the show when it returns in March. One thing we know for sure as of today, actor Edward James Olmos has signed on to play Robert Gonzales. A character we know little about, but judging from Olmos’ past work (including Stand and Deliver, the Battlestar Galactica reboot, and one helluva run of the 80’s classic cop show, Miami Vice), he will most likely be playing an intimidating character who will stare at other characters menacingly while his mustache intimidates them further.

From the mouths of Marvel themselves:

“Edward James Olmos brings an amazing gravitas to any role he inhabits, something we knew we needed for Robert Gonzales,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “When Olmos first appears on our series, everyone will have to take notice–including our favorite Agents.”

Yup, sounds cryptic and menacing. Paired with some of the other new blood the show has recently recruited, it looks like Agents of SHIELD is setting us up for some major twists and turns when it comes back March 3rd at 8 p.m. on ABC.
