Bret McKenzie Of ‘Flight Of The Conchords’ Is Writing More Songs For The Muppets

There are only three things you’re seemingly allowed to talk about on the Internet today: the election, Hurricane Sandy, and what happened last night on The Walking Dead. But because those topics are bleak and/or BOR-RING, let’s talk about something fun. Something like the motherf*cking not-quite-sock, not-quite-mop MUPPETS, and how Oscar-winner, Conchord-flighter Bret McKenzie will return to write more songs for The Muppets “comedy caper” sequel, set to be released on December 20, 2013.

According to Collider:

-While the first film was shot in and around Burbank, California, the sequel will be shooting at Pinewood Studio in London.
-They’ll be filming from late January till sometime in April in and around London.
-Bret McKenzie is writing new songs for the sequel.
-Lieberman teased we “might” be getting a new Muppet. So the big question is how many new characters will appear in the sequel.
-We can expect a lot more casting announcements very soon. (Via)

If you’re not excited for more wacky Pepe the King Prawn shenanigans after hearing this news and the fact that Christoph Waltz will be in the film, too, then you’re neither man nor Muppet — you’re a heartless monster, one NOT made out of fabric.
