Fox has officially ordered the pilot for the Minority Report series. The female-led sequel series will take place 10 years after the events that transpired in Steven Spielberg’s 2002 film. From Variety:
The drama centers on one of three “precogs” who’s struggling to lead a normal life because he’s haunted by visions of the future. He may find a purpose to his gift after meeting a detective haunted by her past.
A lot is riding on Minority Report. Fox made a pretty big commitment to the futuristic series which, if done right, may very well be the program that successfully fills the sci-fi hole that currently exists in the network’s programming left by the end of Fringe and the untimely cancellation of Almost Human. Only time will tell.
