Gabrielle Union Inspires #WhoIsStaceyDash After Calling The Fox News Personality A ‘Crazy Lady’

Some genius from the Associated Press decided to ask Gabrielle Union at Sundance what she thinks about Stacey Dash saying there’s no need for Black History and BET. It turns out that Union doesn’t know who Dash is, and expressed that hilariously.

“Who is Stacey Dash?” Union spits out bemusedly. “Is she like related to Dame Dash? Was she on Roc-A-Fella?”

The reporter clarifies, “She did speak out about banning BET…”

“I heard of a crazy lady once, maybe last week, but I don’t know what her name is,” Union recalls. This transcription doesn’t do her rapid fire delivery justice. You have to watch for yourself.

Later on in the video, the actress gives a smart answer about why actors of color need something like the BET awards or the Alma Awards, or the most expensive Sundance purchase to date, Nate Parker’s movie about the Nat Turner slave rebellion, The Birth of a Nation. “If you don’t see yourself reflected in mainstream awards, you tend to create your own,” Union says.

She’s also inspired the #WhoIsStaceyDash Twitter hashtag, which proves that any Clueless goodwill that Dash had built up has all been spent by now.

Thanks to Gabrielle Union’s mic drop, we no longer have to comment on Stacey Dash anymore.
