‘Game Of Thrones’ Showrunners Promise More Dragons Than Ever In Season 5

What we know so far about Season 5 of Game of Thrones, basically: a few main characters are going to see some major changes in scenery and Daenerys intends to “break the wheel,” not stop it. And how is she going to break that wheel? According to this EW interview with showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, along with producer Bryan Cogman, this season is going to feature more dragon action than ever before. Hell yes. David Benioff says:

As they grow, they become more complex. Dany said she was the Mother of Dragons and she didn’t mean that as a metaphorical thing, but that they are the only children she will ever have. They’re bigger in terms of personality and in terms of their actual size, and that makes them more complicated to deal with in story terms and production terms. You talk about characters having their most important seasons so far, this is definitely the biggest season the dragons have had to date.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt than Game of Thrones budget is pretty much limitless at this point and they can do whatever the hell they want — within time constraints. So if that means more dragons then we’ll take more dragons. Being that this season will stray from the books more than ever it’s anyone’s game as to what happens next. Bring it on, April 12th.
