Dustin From ‘Stranger Things’ Sang The National Anthem At A New York Mets Game

He plays the best character on Netflix’s breakout hit Stranger Things, he takes the best selfies with fans, and he’s an inspiring role model to anyone living with cleidocranial dysplasia. Gaten Matarazzo is winning life right now. Actually, he has been for awhile now; we just didn’t know it until recently.

The 13-year-old actor is also, along with co-star Millie Bobby Brown, an accomplished singer. He portrayed Gavroche in a revival of Les Misérables — a video of him belting out “Bring Him Home” during a karaoke party recently went viral — and Benji in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert: The Musical, both on Broadway. The New York Post also discovered footage of Matarazzo singing the National Anthem at a New York Mets game with his sister from 2015.

All of his and his parents’ hard work is paying off, as evidenced by this NJ.com article from 2012. “[Gaten] loves going to ‘work’ every day,” his mom said. “Now and then when he’s missing a party or play date or something, he’ll get a little down. If I suggest we stop doing the show, he’s adamant about not doing that and he’s fine about going to the city. It helps that the cast and crew love him as much as they do and make it such a fun experience for him.”

Now he’ll never have to pay for pudding again.
