According to The Hollywood Reporter, former ER star George Clooney will appear in a short, Downton Abbey-related charity film set to air this Christmas on ITV in the United Kingdom. Clooney’s role in the film — “part of ITV’s annual Text Santa campaign that raises money for six U.K. charities” — has not yet been officially revealed, although The Sun says his scenes have already been filmed and he will play an American who attends a wedding at the show’s titular estate.
Good for him. A guest spot on a popular series like Downton Abbey could be just the boost his career needs. Haven’t heard much from him since Batman & Robin. Always thought he had a chance to make it big.
