The ‘Gilmore Girls’ Revival Will Chronicle The Events Of One Year

Last week, news broke that Netflix was commissioning a four-episode reunion series of Gilmore Girls, and everyone lost their minds. Creator Amy Sherman-Pallidino would be returning, and Stars Hollow and its eccentric residents would be back in our lives like it was 2005.

Details so far are scant, but according to TV Line, each episode will cover one season, with the entire limited run covering a year in the Gilmores’ lives. While Gilmore Girls really feels like an autumn and winter show (blame the New England setting), it’ll be fun to see what happens in the spring and summer as well. I mean, does Luke wear a baseball hat to the beach? Does Emily drink sangria? These truly are the questions that need answering.

Additionally, the new episodes will be set in present day, about eight years after the beloved show seemingly ended its run. Nothing is set in stone yet, but negotiations with the principles — Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Kelly Bishop (Emily), and Scott Patterson (Luke) — are apparently underway. No word yet on the other cast members, but a Stars Hollow without Paris and Kirk is not one I want to revisit. Here’s hoping Christopher stays in the past, where he belongs.
