Let’s Liveblog Tonight’s Geeky TV: ‘Gotham’ Has Supervillains Before The Debate

Tonight will be occupied with a lone servant, dedicated to protecting the peace and serving us, standing against a nightmare creature of staggering proportions. So since the debate is going to be a massive bummer, why not tune into Gotham to liven up the proceedings?

Last week on Gotham, they covered a shocking amount of ground. Penguin is on top of the criminal heap in Gotham, not that this means much; Gordon is a bounty hunter/vigilante capturing Gotham’s nastier super-d-bags; Bruce has picked a fight with the Court of Owls; Fish is leading a gang of surgically-altered supervillains hoping to make themselves kings of Gotham; and Barbara, Gordon’s clinically unhinged ex, has a bar and a lesbian-ish relationship with Tabitha. Oh, and Butch still has a thing for Tabitha. Oh, also Ivy was touched by a youth-sucking supervillain before being chucked down a drainpipe, so she’s being aged up because why the heck not? That’s going to be at least some of the focus of tonight’s episode.

Yes, it’s ridiculous, but it wouldn’t be Gotham if it weren’t ridiculous. And it’ll make the perfect lead-in for Fox’s broadcast of the debates. After all, if you can get through an episode of corrupt city government, vicious psychopaths, and terrible jokes, that’ll more or less prepare you for the news cycle tomorrow. It all starts tonight at 8 p.m. EST, on Fox. Join us, won’t you?
