Let’s Talk This Week’s Geeky TV: ‘Gotham’ Touches Off A Time Bomb

Last week on Gotham, Nygma decided he was going to hunt down Butch, Barnes lost his mind and became Vic Mackey without brakes, and Bruce, Selena and Ivy starred in a very special and excessively violent episode of Scooby Doo. And the adventures will continue with the one superhero show that’s airing this Thanksgiving week.

Yes, the CW ‘verse is taking a break to prepare for its big crossover next week, while Agents of SHIELD will be back next week after being preempted by David Blaine and Dancing With The Stars, if you were wondering how moving to ABC’s death slot of Tuesdays at 10 was going. So all we have is Gotham, a show that will probably celebrate its Thanksgiving by poisoning turkeys and having Alfred smack around Bruce and Selina. And we can’t wait, well, for the turkeys. Alfred should probably stop beating children.

Joking aside, this episode should have something of a pay-off. Gotham is coming up on the end of the first half of the season, and there are quite a few pieces in play. We’ve got another eleven episodes when it returns next year, and it appears we’ll see the reemergence of Don Falcone and Barbara getting feisty. Also, there are all these supervillains who apparently have just been chilling, having beers, and watching the game. Presumably they’ll come into play at some point. We’ll find out tonight at 8pm ET on Fox. Join us, won’t you?
