‘Gotta Avoid The Juggernut’: The Best Lines From FXX’s ‘The League’

Last night’s second episode of the fifth season of The League, “The Von Nowzick Wedding,” was classic The League. They continued to run with the AIDS jokes, they coined a new word, “The Juggernut,” and called back to an old word from The League: Yobogoya. The second half of the season premiere, which took us up to Andre’s wedding, was even better than the first, and a rare episode of The League that is amazing, even without Raffi (or Dirty Randy).

I have to say, to, that after you get past the initial shock of all the AIDS jokes, it’s actually kind of refreshing. They’re making fun of one of their close friends for having AIDS, and it’s not a big deal. Ted is not treated any different from anyone else in in the fantasy league: His AIDS is downplayed, given the same treatment as Andre’s baldness, or Ruxin’s small penis. In its own weird kind of way, there’s something actually progressive about that.

There were also a slew of great lines last night, so let’s jump right into it.
