Happy Fourth Of July!

Well, that’s gonna do it for us today. On behalf of the rest of the UPROXX staff, I’d like to wish all of you a happy Independence Day. Enjoy your BBQs and your day beers and your fireworks, and whatever else you have planned as part of your celebration. Me? I’ll be doing the same thing I do every July 4th: sleeping in, then watching The Sandlot and eating hot dogs all day. It’s what the Founders would have wanted.

Below, please find an abbreviated selection of the TV listings for the next two days. We’ll catch you guys back here bright and early Thursday morning.

Franklin & Bash (TNT, Tuesday) – Bros. BROS. The sexual tension gets AMPED UP in tonight’s episode because Bash is gonna be all up in Sexy DA Who He Used To Bone’s business which is cool but I wonder what happened to Hot Cop maybe she died R.I.P. HOT COP! [pours out Bud Light Lime-a-Rita] (No recap again this week. Even bros take holidays off.)

Workaholics (Comedy Central, Tuesday) – So far this season, Workaholics has referenced the Space Jam soundtrack, done a Franklin & Bash-esque legal episode, and used the name “Cortez” for the local drug kingpin (which is my stock Local Drug Kingpin name). It’s like they are inside my head.

Independence Day (AMC, Tuesday) – Maybe this is just me, but I like that our country’s most patriotic movie features space aliens.

Futurama (Comedy Central, Wednesday) – We, as a society, don’t make a big enough deal out of what a great character Bender is.

A Capitol Fourth (PBS, Wednesday) – Washington D.C. is a poorly laid out traffic nightmare that is filled with duplicitous scuzzballs who continuously put their own interests above those of the nation they are supposed to be representing. But, on the Fourth of July, when “America the Beautiful” is playing and the fireworks are lighting up the night sky, illuminating all the monuments dedicated to the people who helped shape this country, it’s goddamn breathtaking.

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
