You might remember when Jimmy Fallon asked Billy Joel to return to the worst part of his career (in my opinion) to re-create “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” using only Loopy on the iPad.
Well, Fallon brought it out again last night, this time to get Led Zeppelin’s legendary frontman Robert Plant to go back in time to the land of doo wop. George Lucas probably sh*t his ewok costume in delight.
“The Duke of Earl” is definitely a step up from “The Lion Sleeps Tonight,” but I think I’ve had my fill of doo wop for one lifetime. What I never get enough of are the details of Zeppelin’s “mud shark” incident and the crazy stories that followed it around. Well worth a refresher if you need a nice contrast of Plant-activity.
