Here’s Why The Comedy Central Justin Bieber Roast Will Make You A Happier Person

This year’s Comedy Central Roast will make Justin Bieber your favorite misguided star who’s finally coming of age. Comedian Jeff Ross described it as insane noting that “if Biebs were any younger, this would qualify as child abuse.” But the music star has certainly earned his spot at the roast after enjoying a solid year of publicity (if there’s really no such thing as bad publicity).

It was good press when a site implied he got a Photoshop makeover to enhance the true Bieber nature of his Bieber biceps. It was fantastic press when Seth Rogen, after a Bieber DUI, said that the teen idol was a piece of sh*t. (Tell us how you really feel, Seth!)

Bieber took this marvelous constructive criticism, and wised up to how the public was viewing his gaffes. He even made a Facebook apology, and then an Ellen appearance to explain his apology.

For his final publicity magic trick? The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber taped its long-awaited heckling session last night and here’s what we know:

  • He’s “focused and ready” to get reamed by some of show biz’s best jesters.
  • He can take the criticism in stride because he’s painfully aware his jerkish behavior is a turn-off.
  • He confirms, in his closing speech, that this is the cue he needed to turn things around.

Wow. That’s a lot of Bieber adulthood in one night. After a round of jokes, the pop megastar showed he could hold his own, retorting:

“What do you get when you give a teenager $200 million? A bunch of has-beens calling you a lesbian for two hours.”

Depending on the timing, that may be one of the best zingers to expect. Well done, young sir.
